Padmini & Kavya Chandra

Padmini Chandra has been in the business of fabrics and bespoke ethnic apparel for over two decades. She started her journey in Mumbai with a tailoring and embroidery unit of four people. When she moved to Bangalore in 1993, she brought her penchant for Benarasi weaves and apparel design with her and restarted her business. In 2003, she launched her first retail range of curated fabric after an extensive scout of weavers from across the country. Her intimate knowledge of textiles and embroidery has been rendered in exquisitely crafted sarees, yardage and ensembles that define the ethos of Soulful Hues, today.

Kavya Chandra joined the studio in 2012, bringing with her a flare for anything atypical. Adding a youthful burst of energy to the mix, Kavya likes to have fun with fabrics and patterns, pairing traditional weaves with modern silhouettes and voguish styles. Together, they bring a balance of heritage and nouveau to their bustling boutique

About the Studio

A sartorial studio of thoughtfully crafted apparel and exclusive fabrics, Soulful Hues is a name created by Padmini and Kavya Chandra. They work with their team of weavers, tailors and hand-embroiderers to construct one-of-a-kind ensembles, in the most ethereal fabrics and intricate patterns.

Located in Bangalore in a balmy, black and white bungalow, the serene atmosphere of their boutique is a charming contrast to the bustling energy and organized chaos of their production unit. Customers make their choices between pret and fabric collections at the boutique and design their outfits with both designers, choosing from their extensive list of styles.

Soulful Hues now goes online bringing to you the experience of a design studio on your screen: you can shop from our choices of apparel and yardage and, design your own ensemble using our interactive sketchbook tool. You can bring your sketchbook design to us at our studio for production or order it online and have your very own custom made ensemble delivered to your doorstep.
